Food Rescue Coordinator-Salt Lake

Brent Ottley is a passionate cook who cares deeply about feeding people who most need to be fed. In 2018, he retired after many years in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and began pursuing his longtime interest in issues related to food insecurity, waste and sustainability. He has spent time learning about the food supply ecosystem from work in grocery stores, urban farms, local aid agency kitchens and finally, food rescue programs with WasteLess Solutions.

He has a Bachelors degree in history from the University Of Utah, a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from The Oregon College Of Oriental Medicine and is an avid longtime musician and practitioner and teacher of Qigong.

Brent oversees all things food rescue for Salt Lake County.
