Position Type: Full-time, salaried

Salary Range: $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience

About WasteLess Solutions

WasteLess Solutions is a Utah non-profit organization working to reduce food waste through education, prevention, and diversion. Our food rescue program connects surplus edible food from businesses, farms, caterers, restaurants, cafeterias, and other food producers with community organizations and individuals who can use it. Through education and community engagement, we also help people and businesses understand the impacts of food waste and take practical steps to prevent it.

Founded in Salt Lake City in 2018, WasteLess has expanded its work across Utah, including Salt Lake, Weber, and Summit counties, with further growth into Wasatch County. We believe reducing food waste and improving food access go hand in hand, and we work with businesses, volunteers, nonprofits, and community partners to make the most of the food our communities already have.

Position Overview

The Wasatch Back has an abundance of high-quality surplus food, strong community networks, and residents experiencing food insecurity. WasteLess has built exciting momentum in the region, and we are looking for a full-time leader to build on that foundation and help shape what comes next.

The Wasatch Back Program Manager will lead the development and day-to-day operations of WasteLess’s food rescue and food access programs across the region. This is a relational, hands-on role for someone who can see the big picture, identify practical solutions, and bring people together to turn ideas into action.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building relationships with local businesses and community leaders, coordinating a last-minute food rescue, developing a new food access initiative, and creating systems that help programs operate more effectively over time. This person will serve as WasteLess’s primary regional representative, working independently while collaborating closely with a small, statewide team.

The goal is not simply to manage existing programs, but to grow a strong, sustainable regional network that rescues more food, reaches more people, and builds community capacity over time.
